MES RLMSS ATL : Our Evolving Inclusive community outreach
ATL community day was celebrated in our school as per the call given by AIM Niti Aayog. This was celebrated on 13th April, 14th April and 15th April 2023.
On the first day of Celebration 13 April the interaction with community workers was organised in school.
The cadets interacted with sweepers, drainage cleaners, security guards, gardeners , electricians, plumbers, and washermen about their work profile and the problems faced during their work. One of the cadet Geeta dhanawade from standard 8 made a group and prepared and presented a gadget for disposal of the garbage which was one of the problems told by the sweepers like Used sanitary pads, stained dirty clothes, excreta of animals, etc
This interaction was an eye opener and created awareness about their responsibility to maintain a clean environment in their surroundings.
On the 2nd day of the program 14th April 2023 – the birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar was celebrated with the children of community workers and teachers who reside in the school premises. Children enjoyed the program ‘fun with science projects’.
They were invited to see and learn the wonders of technology. They were given DIY kits, lago blocks and magnets and were asked to identify any problem and make solutions prototype models with it.
On 15th April around 25 students from Zilla Parishad schools of shindewadi and sutharwadi villages who were deprived and interested in learning new technology were invited. They were trained and mentored to get hands on experience like various activities such as “Do-it- yourself”, design thinking and introduction to 3D printing they were guided and mentored by school children of class 11 science stream.
The young inventors were built with ideas and made many designs using chart paper, LED bulbs and pencil cells.
It was interesting and opened a new horizon for them.
The educational and cultural bridges which have been * witness with our rural neighbours will be further enhanced in the time to come unity. This yearly event becomes a celebration of the spirit of unity in diversity.
