ATL community Day – Event 1

Every year to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Dr.B R Ambedkar and provide equal opportunity to all ATL schools celebrates Community day by inviting community students from Non ATL schools.
The main objective of ATL (Atal Tinkering Lab) Community Day is to extend the impact of ATL programs beyond the school walls by engaging children from nearby non-ATL schools and the local community in tinkering and innovation. It aims to introduce these children to the philosophy of ATL and foster a culture of creativity.
ATL Community Day aims to reach more children, including those who may not have access to formal ATL education, by inviting them to participate in tinkering and innovation activities.
Igniting curiosity and creativity:
The day provides an opportunity for children to explore their curiosity, creativity and imagination through hands-on tinkering and innovation activities.
Fostering 21st-century skills:
ATL Community Day aims to introduce children to 21st-century skills like design thinking, computational thinking, and adaptive learning.
ATL community day Event 1 was celebrated in ATL lab of RLMSS on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Students of age group 5 to 15 from staff colony of RLMSS were invited for the event.
Following activities were conducted in the event:
1. Introduction of community day
2. ⁠DIY kit model making and model presentation – team of Parents and Children
3. ⁠Toy making by using paper cups and groupwise competition.
4. ⁠Introduction to 3D printing technology with demonstration of 3D printed objects.
Students were divided into 2 groups and allotted groupwise and individual tasks.
ATL incharge Mrs Manjiri Patil introduced and addressed the session.
Cadets of RLMSS’s ATL club from class 9 guided the participants about 3D printing and volunteered them.
The participants enjoyed the science fun activity of making paper cup flyers and participated in race of maximum distance flying.

The event truly encouraged collaboration between the local community to create a shared learning.
Participants enjoyed a lot and shared learning by showcasing the creativity.
Definitely this event provided a platform for ATL students to showcase their projects and innovations to a wider audience.
The event celebrated the spirit of innovation and creativity, recognizing the contributions of students, teachers, and mentors.

The chief guest of the event Hon. Commandant of RLMSS Air wing commander Yagnaraman sir interacted, guided and awarded the participants with participation certificates and prizes.
Principal Smt. Pooja Jog, Senior Master Mr. Shyam Nangare and PRO Mr. Sandeep Pawar greeted the students with best wishes.
ATL incharge Mrs Manjiri Patil planned and coordinated the event.
Science committee members Mrs. Savitri Patil, Mrs. Vaishali Shinde, Mr. Shivdas Kapure, Mr. Mangesh Patil, Mrs. Aarti Joshi and members of RLMSS family puts in their best effort to make the event more successful.
